Quarterly Newsletter – July 2019

Welcome

We welcome you to the latest edition of the SRT Restorers Newsletter. For those of us down this end of the world it is winter. It hasn’t been a bad one for Wellington, but we are wearing what we call our “winter woollies” and the wood-burners are going strong. Linda and I escaped a few weeks of it as our report will reflect.

Betsy Hall

We are sad to report that our dear friend Betsy Hall, wife of Dudley who so many of you know, passed away on 31st July after a long battle with cancer. Betsy is now healed, free and in the presence of the Lord, but her loss will be intensely felt by family and so many friends. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Current Quote

“Some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons”- Denzel Washington.

Changes

The Newsletter will no longer have a feature article. Our brand-new website is nearly ready, and all featured articles will be on that. We will put the website up first as a prototype and then, after getting comments and feedback, we will post it permanently. We are very excited about it.

Facebook Page

We now have a new FB page. It is a closed group, being limited to SRT folk and supporters. There is ample opportunity for discussion and relevant articles and matters of interest. I am sorry but we won’t add anyone unless they are connected to us in some way as there are plenty of other groups to cater for everyone.

For those of you that are already on it, I hope you are enjoying it. If you are not on it and would like to join, go to the site and make a friend request or let Natalie know and we will put you on. You are free to post your thoughts, articles etc. but keep them relevant to who we are and what we do.

Upcoming Events

There are no events planned in the next few months. Of course, we are always open to suggestions.

Boards Travel For Next Quarter

Bruce and Linda will be with David and Natalie in Brisbane and in Melbourne doing various meetings and catching up with key leaders early August.   Of course, Linda’s daughter Melanie is due to have a baby, so this is another reason for Linda being in Australia.

Bruce is planning a major trip in late October/November. The trip will involve meetings in Singapore, South Africa, Reunion Island and Madagascar. More about this in the next newsletter but the trip is composed of working with existing leaders and our schools and also exploring new possibilities, especially in South Africa. Sadly, Linda will not be able to attend.

David has launched a strategic men’s mentoring group in Singapore and will be visiting the group in Singapore and graduates from the schools in France over the next 2 months.  David and Natalie are currently facilitating a BLS300 graduate school for BLS Alumni with students from France, England and Australia.
